Set Speed Automatically With Adaptive Cruise Control
Cruise Control technology was already present to increase driving comfort. However, this feature is increasingly developing. Adaptive Cruise Control which allows automatic speed and distance control can now be enjoyed.
Cruise Control is a technology that makes it easier for drivers to drive at a constant speed. Just activate this feature, then the car will drive according to the settings.
As long as Cruise Control is active, the driver does not need to step on the gas pedal. The car's speed will always match the desired speed. However, the driver still has to hold the steering wheel to control the situation.
This feature is very helpful when you want to rest your feet for a moment. Constant vehicle speed is also believed to be beneficial in fuel savings. However, because the car's speed remains stable, Cruise Control is more appropriate to use on quiet roads or those with fewer obstacles such as toll roads.
Imagine if you run it on a busy road, so the driving speed changes. The driver will be bothered having to turn off Cruise Control. However, if you don't want to turn it off, good driving maneuvers must be done to avoid accidents.
However, the presence of Adaptive Cruise Control changes everything. Drivers don't need to bother with these things when the Cruise Control feature is active. The speed of the car can change to suit the vehicle in front of it automatically.
Adaptive Cruise Control is a further development of the Cruise Control feature. This technology works with a radar system. Usually a special sensor is installed on the front that helps its operation. Most often these sensors are located in the grille or bumper of the car.
When activated, Adaptive Cruise Control will help the car adjust speed automatically according to the speed of the vehicle in front. For example, if you set it to go 80 km/hour and the vehicle in front has a speed of 60 km/hour, the car will
slows down by itself. The speed will be in line with the vehicle in front. However, if the vehicle in front is faster because it is traveling 90 km/hour, the car will still be stable at a speed of 80 km/hour. This means that the car remains in accordance with the settings made previously. AUTONOMOUS RESPONSE
Autonomous responses will also occur when the vehicle in front stops. Adaptive Cruise Control allows the car to stop automatically. However, there is usually a certain time limit before the car starts running again. If the vehicle in front stops for more than five seconds, the driver must reset the Adaptive Cruise Control feature.
Apart from being able to adjust speed automatically, there is also Adaptive Cruise Control which is equipped with distance settings. The driver can determine the distance to the vehicle in front so that he is always awake. So, when it is within the specified distance, the car can adjust its speed to those in front.
This feature certainly helps drivers even more. However, it is recommended to use it in road conditions that allow it, such as quiet roads or free of obstacles such as toll roads. Apart from that, it is hoped that drivers will not be complacent. Even though the car drives autonomously, the driver still has to control it via the steering wheel. Vigilance is required to remain the same as when driving a car without Adaptive Cruise Control. This is important to ensure that travel is always safe.
