Eliminate Noise in the Cabin With Sound Dampeners
For some people, the calm and quiet atmosphere in the car cabin is a pleasure in itself. Especially for those who want to drive while enjoying music from the installed audio system. If you want to present it, try installing soundproofing for the cabin.
There are many ways to reduce the noise heard in the car cabin. You can lubricate car components, change tires to types of tires with low sound levels, and tighten loose bolts or nuts.
However, all of this still needs to be equipped with soundproofing. It is felt that this will be more useful in reducing the noise level heard in the car.
Effectively Suppresses Noise in the Car Cabin
Installing soundproofing has been proven to be able to suppress the noise that comes from the car. Its effectiveness is considered quite high. It is estimated that noise in the cabin will be reduced by up to 40 percent if the installation is correct.
The ideal installation can be carried out in all areas of the car. Sound dampening will be layered onto it. But that's not a requirement. Just installing it at a point where the sound is quite annoying can be an effective step.
For example, if the sound of other vehicles from outside is disturbing, a damper can simply be installed on the inside door wall. Then, if the engine is considered to be noisy, then installing it on the wall separating the engine room and cabin can be done.
It's different if the annoying sound comes from the friction of the tires and exhaust. This makes soundproofing the floor a priority. Soundproofing can be layered onto it to provide the desired cabin silence.
Types of Car Cabin Sound Dampeners
Before deciding to install a soundproofer, it is better to identify the various types first. There are various options that can be adjusted to your needs and budget. The following are the types of car cabin soundproofing:
â— Butyl Rubber Sound Dampener
Often referred to as asphalt soundproofing, this type works by increasing the thickness of the panel and closing the pores. As a result, the noise level in the cabin will decrease because it is muffled by the material.
There are two types of butyl rubber cabin sound dampeners, namely those equipped with aluminum foil and those without. If you choose to use aluminum foil, you will get a plus point in the form of higher glue resistance and the ability to function as a heat barrier.
â— Sound Damper Isolator
This type of isolator soundproofing is shaped similar to foam. Installed in a certain area, its presence is able to reduce sound well. The sounds that appear will be blocked.
However, this soundproofing does not have other advantages, such as retaining heat in the car cabin. Its function is really only to block sound.
â— Sound Absorber
The sound absorber absorber is similar to foam and is waterproof. However, the material does not have pores. Its main function is to reduce the sounds that appear.
Installed in a certain area, noise will be reduced. The sound will be muffled by sound dampening material.
Material Combination
Various types of sound absorbers are known. It's time to choose which one feels most suitable. However, if you want to get maximum benefits, a combination of soundproofing is highly recommended.
The three types of soundproofing can be installed simultaneously. As a start, a butyl rubber sound dampener is installed. After that, it is isolated with an insulator and dampened with an absorber.
The result is an optimal level of soundproofing. Noise that comes from inside and outside the car cabin can be muffled. The desired silence is easy to provide. Want to try?
