Implementing Strict Health Protocols, Subang Motocross Still Presents Quality Events

The dirt raking racing event entitled West Java Open Motocross Grasstrack Championship (JOMGC) 2020 Subang Series 2, was successfully held. The Republic of Indonesia Menpora Cup event was held at the MX GTX Bukit Nyomot Serang Panjang Circuit, Subang, West Java, last (24-25/10). 

The event, which is fully supported by the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports, VMX.id, SGM and Dunlop, is a quality event that continues to implement strict health protocols. And not just a competition, this racing event is also expected to be able to get the economy moving again amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Therefore, this event was packaged carefully and neatly by IMI Jabar. It could be said that this event can be used as an example and reference in creating quality automotive events even during the pandemic. Participants are required to prioritize strict health protocols.

“Our hope as practitioners, organizers and participants involved in the world of motor racing, is that this event can create a healthy competitive climate and become a model for other promoters, team owners, racers, sponsors and the media. "So that a creative automotive sports industry will be created that will benefit the wider community," he said. explained H. Fachrul Sarman, as Chair of the West Java IMI Provincial Committee.

Several sponsors, including Dunlop, also support this. Apart from material support, Dunlop also offers the right supply and choice of tires for the racers. The flagship tires, Geomax MX3S, Geomax MX52 and DGX-01, are always present to support all Motocross competitions in the country.

Strict Health Protocols

Returning to the event, the committee implemented  full health protocols in the field. One of them, the 2nd series of JOMGC in Subang, West Java was also held without spectators. Even though the atmosphere was quiet, this did not dampen the enthusiasm and excitement of the event. The crossers' passion for racing was immediately fulfilled in this event, after several months of absence from the championship due to the pandemic.

Racing is divided into 20 competition classes, starting from the 50cc, MX2, to Executive classes contested in this event. Hundreds of local Subang, West Java and national racers also took part, one of them was Delvintor Alfarizi.

By packaging the event in such a way, the point is that this event was held successfully. Several applications, such as monitoring strict health protocols, neatly arranged paddock layouts, and presenting events via live streaming, are worthy of emulation by other racing event promoters.
