Driving Comfort With Double Rebound Shockbreaker
Many want to get more comfort when driving. Various ways can be done. One of them is by using a double rebound shockbreaker.
Suspension is closely related to the comfort level of the car. Quality suspension will provide a “soft” so the vehicle feels more comfortable. Apart from that, the car doesn't feel unsteady when turning.
So, quite a few people want to replace their car's stock suspension system which they feel is less comfortable with a type that suits their preferences. This could indeed be a solution when you want to increase comfort in the car. However, when you want to do this, it is recommended to choose to use a double rebound shockbreaker which is known to be reliable.
Uses of Shockbreakers
Shockbreakers or shock absorbers are a key element of a vehicle's suspension. This system is designed to compensate for the stress on the chassis when driving on uneven roads.
The working mechanism is quite complex. It includes a vibration dampening system, shock absorption, and ensures constant contact of the wheels with the road surface when the car is moving.
The shock absorber will be installed next to the wheel. With the help of a lever system, the mechanical load of shocks and vibrations is transferred from the rotating wheel to the shockbreaker.
This part is also equipped with a spring. This is what provides the rod's quick return after compression when hitting a bump. If this process is not done as quickly as possible, the car will sway uncontrollably.
What is a Double Rebound Shockbreaker Like?
There are various types of shock absorbers that can be obtained. However, the double rebound shockbreaker is considered capable of providing better comfort for the car. Not surprisingly, premium cars often use them, especially those from manufacturers in Europe.
Double rebound shock absorbers are different from single rebound shock absorbers. The difference lies in the presence of additional springs in the double rebound shockbreaker. Thanks to that, the ability to provide comfort increases.
This can happen because the single rebound shockbreaker works by simply releasing an upward swing. The movement will be released without being held back, so it is often thought to make the car feel swaying and less “soft”.
Different from double rebound shock absorbers. When the shockbreaker moves down by pressing the vehicle body, this movement is resisted by a spring.
Installed on the inside of the shockbreaker, the spring is useful as a shock absorber. The aim is so that the movement doesn't just come off, thus providing more comfort for the car.
Not surprisingly, using double rebound shock absorbers will also support good vehicle control. Even when turning a sharp corner, the car will not sway. Apart from that, the shorter axle dimensions compared to single rebound shock absorbers provide even more comfort for the car.
Your Own Modifications
Not all cars use double rebound shock absorbers. However, if you want to bring it to your vehicle, this is still possible by making your own modifications.
The car can be taken to a repair shop to have double rebound shockbreakers installed. There the shock absorber will be dismantled. Then add a spring that matches the diameter of the shockbreaker and then reassemble it.
When dismantled, the suspension oil will also be replaced. At the same time, nitrogen gas was added to increase the dampening power against shocks.
After everything is finished, try to feel comfortable on the road. The results will definitely be different. The ride becomes more comfortable because the shocks feel “soft” thanks to the reliability of the double rebound shock absorbers.
However, prepare more funds to replace it. In general, double rebound shock absorbers will be more expensive than single rebound shock absorbers. However, the price will be commensurate with the driving comfort it brings to the car.
