Online Training for Dunlop Stakeholders
For the first time, product education via the Zoom application has become a medium for Dunlop Academy training interaction.
The Covid-19 pandemic has not stopped PT Sumi Rubber Indonesia (Surindo) from providing education to the network, especially Distributors and Dunlop Shops in Indonesia. Moreover, it is associated with the launch of Dunlop's newest product, SP Sport LM705.
A little flashback to when the SP Sport LM705 was officially launched to the public in early March 2020. This latest tire is a development of the previous product, Dunlop SP Sport LM704, Surindo carried out various series of activities, starting from the Feeling Test (20/02), the launch ceremony (08/03), to product knowledge education.
However, in the middle of the journey, plans did not meet expectations when the Government hit the hammer on Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) regarding handling the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. Practically, a series of activities that were supposed to be carried out face to face were stopped, including Stakeholder education plans regarding SP Sport LM705.
In fact, the SP Sport LM705 product presentation was carried out at the same time as the launch in 16 cities in the country. “But the show must go on”. Dunlop continues to look for solutions in difficult conditions so that the transfer of knowledge and training continues according to the targets that have been set. As a result, the Zoom application became Surindo's choice for holding online education or webinars for all its relations and sales networks.
With various strategic and technical preparations, webinars were introduced in July 2020. The central theme is related to the SP Sport LM705, from features to technology to online educational discussions that last for 90 minutes.
This webinar also targets all parties including distributor representatives in each area and Dunlop Shops throughout Indonesia starting from Dunlop Shop owners, Managers, Sales, and of course Mechanics, therefore Surindo packages its material in a clear, short and concise format.
In its implementation, each webinar session consists of 20 – 25 participants. Starting at 10.00, this webinar began with a product video, a technical explanation about the features and technology of the SP Sport LM705, a testimonial video from Automotive Youtuber, Fitra Eri, and then ended with a question and answer session with the participants.
“From July and August on average there are 7 sessions each month. We are targeting 100 people from Distributors and 400 people from Dunlop Shop to be able to take part in this webinar. And we hope that in November everything can be finished”. Said Bambang Hermanuhadi as Training Manager of Surindo.
The webinar participants also responded positively and welcomed it enthusiastically. “This activity is very useful, apart from gaining knowledge about the SP Sport LM705 product, this kind of webinar is also useful for filling free time amidst the pandemic that is still hitting us”. Said one of the participants.
Bambang also added that there were no obstacles to its implementation, because currently everyone is using smartphones and starting to adapt to virtual communication habits.
Motorcycle Tire Training
In addition to knowledge about SP Sport LM705, Surindo also provides education about motorbike tires to its network, especially motorbike tire distributors from all over Indonesia. By using the same platform and method as the SP Sport LM705 training, Surindo invited Managers and Salesmen from each Distributor to finalize their knowledge regarding the advantages of the Dunlop motorbike tire product range, both on-road and off-road.
“We want to take advantage of this pandemic period to further improve the skills and knowledge of our salesmen, so that they can take advantage of existing market opportunities and sell Dunlop products more easily.” Said Imam Oedarto, as General Manager Sales Replacement 4W and 2W Surindo.
Training is held in 5 sessions with a duration of 1 hour. Distributors also responded to this activity enthusiastically. “We are happy that in a situation like this we can be more productive. It is very useful, we can look for opportunities and develop the market in our area. The hope is that sales will increase.” Said one of the participants from Distributor.
