Suzuki XL7 Uses Enasave as OEM Tires
At the beginning of 2020, PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales as APM Suzuki in Indonesia, released another new product to Indonesia. This time the Suzuki XL7 officially launched for the Indonesian market. This SUV from Suzuki will be a challenger in the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) class. This means that the XL7 is ready to fight against older transporters such as the Toyota Rush, Daihatsu Terios, Honda BR-V and Mitsubishi Xpander Cross.
Suzuki XL7 is available in three variants, starting with the Zeta variant, the lowest type, then Beta and Alpha for the highest type. The price for Zeta M/T is IDR 230 million, Zeta A/T IDR 240.5 million, Beta M/T IDR 246.5 million, Beta A/T IDR 257 million, Alpha M/T IDR 256.5 million, and Alpha A/TR IDR 267 million.
Mentioning the XL7 reminds of the figure of the 2003 Suzuki Grand Escudo XL7, now this emblem is attached to the figure of Suzuki's newest SUV. However, different from the Grand Escudo XL7, the Suzuki XL7 takes the monocoque frame of the Suzuki All New Ertiga as a basis to be realized as an SUV.
Exterior, the dashing impression is very visible thanks to the application of the muscular design of the grill, hood, headlamps and bumper. Suzuki Indonesia calls this design a muscular design. The thick and dashing impression is visible, very far from the All New Suzuki Ertiga which is the basis for its design.
The XL7 engine still uses the same engine as the Ertiga, namely the K15B 4 cylinder DOHC with a capacity of 1,462 cc. This engine is capable of producing 103.2 hp at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm.
HEARTECT Platform
The HEARTECT technology frame base is also similar to that used by the Ertiga, Ignis and Baleno. By using a monocoque platform, the XL7 offers advantages in terms of production costs and also parts sharing.
HEARTECT is the newest base from Suzuki. This base is built to strengthen the underbody, but is still designed using light materials to obtain good fuel efficiency. Apart from that, it also supports performance when driving, even when maneuvering and helps braking.
The suspension is also good. Front and rear suspension adopts MacPherson Strut with coil spring & Torsion Beam with coil spring. Driving dynamics are even better with Chassis Safety Technology, Heartect.
The performance is also supported by the presence of 16 inch alloy rims and Dunlop Enasave EC300+ tires, with specifications 195/60 R16 89H. Not without reason, Suzuki still uses original tires from Dunlop, especially the Enasave EC300+. Apart from good performance, this type of Dunlop is also known to be environmentally friendly.
For wheel circumference, the Suzuki XL7 is 1 inch bigger than the Suzuki All New Ertiga. With size specifications 195/60R16, The suspension will remain softer, because the Suzuki XL7 uses Dunlop tires which have more flexible tire walls.
The presence of the Suzuki XL7 also confirms that this manufacturer is consistent and believes in Dunlop's performance. There are a number of Suzuki models that already use the Dunlop Enasave EC300+. Call it the Suzuki All New Ertiga, All New Jimny, and Carry Futura Pick Up.
At least the Dunlop Enasave EC300+ provides proof to the Indonesian public that quality and technology remain the choice of a number of world car manufacturers.
